Clyburn takes oath again for FCC

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston native Mignon Clyburn has begun her second term on the Federal Communications Commission.

She took the oath of office today at Charleston City Hall, for another four-year term, after being re-nominated by President Obama.

"We are responsible for public safety engagement," Clyburn says of the FCC.  "The decisions that we make can mean the difference between life and death.  I take that responsibility quite seriously and I'm very proud to be a part of an organization that does."

Clyburn says her biggest goal for her second term is to further expand internet accessibility.
