CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies are investigating two separate Wednesday morning accidents that sent multiple people to the hospital.
According to a release, deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident Friday at 1:51 a.m. in the area of River Road and Main Road on John's Island.
Deputies say a Volkswagen was traveling at a high rate of speed when it went off the road and hit a tree. The two people in the car were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with life-threatening injuries.
A hit-and-run occurred at 1:37 a.m. near Oasis Bar on Folly Road after deputies say an intoxicated female walked into traffic and was hit by a car. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Deputies say vehicle fled the scene.
