Police looking for driver who abandoned car following hit-and-run

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are on the lookout for a man who abandoned his car following a hit-and-run in West Ashley.

On Tuesday night, the Charleston Police Department responded to the area of Glenn McConnell Parkway and Bairds Cove in reference to an accident.

According to the victim, she was driving on Glenn McConnell when a BMW, which was attempting to turn left onto Bairds Cove, crashed into her SUV.

Witnesses told officers that the driver of the BMW was "very confused" and possibly drunk.

One of the witnesses also spoke to the driver of the BMW to make sure he was okay. A police report states the witness also spoke to other people in the area ,and when he returned to the BMW, the driver was gone.

Officers then searched the area, but the driver was not located.
