BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and School District are making adjustments to ensure the safety of a school zone in Sangaree.

According to a release, the Berkeley County School District has added an additional crossing guard in the school zone around Sangaree Elementary, Intermediate and Middle schools. Deputies will also provide additional presence at arrival and dismissal times when available.

Authorities say drivers must take personal responsibility for their actions, adhere to traffic laws, and follow the directions of the crossing guards.

If you witness reckless driving at any school zone, call the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office at 843-719-4412.
