Police: Man shot at, robbed while unloading merchandise

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department is searching for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint while he was unloading merchandise Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say the incident took place in the area of 5900 Rivers at the rear of the Teppanyki Supreme Buffet.

According to N. Charleston Police Department Public Information Officer Spencer Pryor, the victim was unloading merchandise off the trailer of a semi truck when a masked suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

Police say the suspect fired a single shot inside the truck after getting money from the victim. The suspect then took off.

The incident remains under investigation.
