NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a pedestrian was killed after walking into traffic in North Charleston Thursday afternoon.
The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 62-year-old Samuel Grant of North Charleston.
Officials with the North Charleston Police Department say officers responded to an accident involving a pedestrian and a car on Ashley Phosphate and Stall roads.
During the investigation, officers learned that Grant stepped off the curb and walked in front of a car.
He was transported to MUSC where he later died.
Police say the incident remains under investigation and no charges are expected for the driver of the car.
