COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says a man wanted for a fatal shooting at a club on Thursday has surrendered to authorities.
Investigators say 48-year-old Larry Henderson Jr. turned himself over to authorities Friday night. Henderson was wanted for murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
Sheriff's office spokesman Ted Stanfield said the victim, 52-year-old Leon Cockrum Jr., was taken to the hospital after the shooting at the Chase Lounge on Proctor Street late Thursday.
On Thursday night, the sheriff's office received a call in reference to a shooting that happened at the club.
When deputies arrived, they found Cockrum with several gunshot wounds. Authorities say the victim told deputies who shot him before he died at 3 a.m. on Friday.
According to investigators, Henderson and Cockrum knew each other and had an argument inside the club which led to Cockrum getting shot multiple times.
Deputies say Henderson later called authorities and told them he would surrender.
This is the third shooting in five months at the club.
