Cops: 2 caught with cocaine in 'the Neck' of Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Special investigators arrested two people on cocaine-trafficking charges Thursday at a home in "the Neck" of Charleston.

Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis said officers executed a search warrant at 1910 Doscher Avenue and confiscated over 11 grams of cocaine, over 13 grams of crack cocaine, and $895 in cash.

Police charged 38-year-old Kenneth Gavella Thomas, of Doscher Avenue, and 54-year-old Barbara Palmer, of North Charleston, with trafficking cocaine, trafficking cocaine base, and possession of cocaine base with intent to distribute within close proximity of a school.

Thomas was also charged with manufacturing cocaine base.

Both suspects are being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
