Flight delays possible due to weather conditions

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A number of flights scheduled to fly into and out of Charleston International Airport Saturday could experience delays or cancellations due to weather conditions.

A spokesperson for the airport says staff is in contact with the National Weather Service to better gauge possible flight changes. Officials are projecting the inclement weather to continue throughout the evening and clear up by approximately 9 a.m. Sunday.

According to the spokesperson, airlines are flying in larger aircraft on Saturday and into Sunday morning in order to accommodate passengers.

The airport is asking the public to check with their airline prior to arriving for departing flights. Also check with arriving passengers to keep updated on their expected arrival times.
