GOP candidates' forum tonight for Dist. 1 seat

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Governor Nikki Haley will attend the 1st Congressional District Republican candidates' forum, which will be held at The Citadel's athletic center on Thursday night.

All 16 Republic candidates vying for Senator Tim Scott's vacant Congressional seat will appear at the forum, including: Keith Blanford, former Councilman Curtis Bostic, Ric Bryant, SC Senator Larry Grooms, Jonathan Hoffman, Jeff King, former SC Senator John Kuhn, Tim Larkin, SC Rep. Chip Limehouse, SC Rep. Peter McCoy, School Board Member Elizabeth Moffly, former Sheriff Ray Nash, SC Rep. Andy Patrick, Shawn Pinkston, former Governor Mark Sanford, and Teddy Turner.

The forum is hosted by The Propeller Club of the Port of Charleston, and one of the club's members, Rob New, will be the moderator.

New is a former Charleston County School Board Chairman, a political analyst, and a past president of the club.

The forum is being held at the Altman Athletic Center at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
