CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Though the name suggests only one type of libation, the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival features a drink for every taste.
"We actually have added quite a few beer and cocktail events to our event line-up and it's been really popular, especially with all the great cocktail bars that are popping up around Charleston," Communications Director Ashley Zink says. "The beer and cocktail events are popular every year, so we add more and more of them."
The festival includes various attractions with a focus on lowcountry cuisine. The annual event continues to garner attention from outside of South Carolina.
"Our breakdown every year is about 60 percent local, 40 percent out of town. We get a lot of people who drive in from Atlanta and North Carolina and Florida for the weekend and they really make a trip out of it," Zink says. "The city loves it because they stay in hotels and go shopping and go to the restaurants."
The festival continues until Sunday.
