Coroner identifies man killed in Pineville crash

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

The Berkeley County coroner has identified the man killed in a single-car wreck in Pineville early Friday.

Coroner Bill Salisbury said 26-year-old Denvil Thompson, of St. Stephen, was driving south on Matilda Circle around 12:15 a.m. when his sedan ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Thompson died from head trauma.  He was not wearing his seatbelt, according to authorities.

The accident was investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the SC Highway Patrol.
