Man sentenced to 20 years in prison in fatal Moncks Corner shooting

    Authorities say a 15-year-old runaway has been found safe following an investigation by the Moncks Corner Police Department which led to the arrest of two men. Investigators announced Friday evening that Dana Sweazy has been found and is back home with her parents.

MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) -

A man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty in a fatal Moncks Corner shooting.

Ricardo Mendoza was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of 32-year-old Edwin Velasquez-Rodriguez.

The Moncks Corner police say Velasquez-Rodriguez was found by police in his car at the Park City Mobile Home Park in May of 2011.

The gruesome discovery was made at the mobile home park off Highway 52.
