NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department says authorities found nothing dangerous in a suspicious package that was found at the Charleston County School of the Arts Thursday afternoon.
Police officers responded to the school at 2:50 p.m. to assist school administrators and a school resource officer with a package which authorities say had suspicious writing and no return address.
Investigators removed the package to a safe area from a building and the school was placed on administrative lockdown.
The Charleston County bomb unit inspected the package and found the contents were not a threat. The lockdown was then lifted at 3:45 p.m.
During the lockdown, buses with children were allowed to leave campus, while students inside the school remained while police were on scene.
