JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - The St. Johns Fire Department says a Wednesday afternoon fire on Johns Island destroyed three cars and two sheds.

At 5:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a structure fire on 3294 Sassy Dr.

When authorities arrived on scene they saw a car in the driveway and a shed on fire. According to fire officials, gusty winds allowed the fire to spread to another nearby shed and to a wooded area behind some homes.

An incident report states that firefighters had to establish a water supply operation to shuttle water since the closest hydrant was half a mile away.

No one was injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
