PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

A burglar in Pawleys Island was caught on Sunday after a concerned citizen called deputies, authorities say.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Carrie Cuthbertson said deputies responded to Tyson Drive and Kings River Road around 1 a.m. Sunday after someone reported a suspicious vehicle and trailer parked outside a home.

Cuthbertson said deputies were on the way when they saw a vehicle matching the citizen's description traveling south on Ocean Highway.

After initiating a traffic stop and finding forced entry at the home where the vehicle was spotted, deputies arrested 51-year-old Larry Dean Toombs.

Toombs was charged with third-degree burglary and taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center.
