Teenager accused of burglarizing home, breaking into car

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has arrested a teenager accused of burglarizing a home and breaking into a car in West Ashley.

Investigators charged 17-year-old Michael Diehl with first-degree burglary, breaking into a motor vehicle and petit larceny. Police say Diehl was arrested on Wednesday with the help of a concerned citizen.

Diehl's arrest stems from two incidents that happened in March.

On March 8, someone entered an apartment on Pebble Road through the bathroom window and stole two Airsoft replica pellet guns, a GPS and several collectible coins.

Authorities say on Monday, someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Pebble Road and took a cell phone charger and a keyless entry remote. Those items were recovered and returned to the victim.

Police are continuing the investigation.
