Junior Forward Trent Wiedeman is leaving the College of Charleston to transfer to another school the Cougars announced in a press release on Friday.
Wiedeman, who was a preseason All-SoCon selection this season, was limited early in the season due to two separate ankle injuries. He played in 26 of the teams 35 games, starting just 4. His average minutes per game were the lowest of his 3 seasons with the Coguars this year at just 21 per game. His other numbers also dropped with the reduced playing time as his scoring was down over 3 and a half points a game and his 5.5 rebounds per game were the lowest of his college career as well.
"It was a pleasure to coach Trent this year," CofC Head Coach Doug Wojcik said. "We did not want him to transfer, but it was his decision and we wish him the very best."
For his career, Wiedeman played in 93 games at CofC starting 49 of them averaging 9.6 points and 7 rebounds per game. In addition to his preseason honor this year, he was named to the SoCon All-Freshman team in 2011 and was named to the All-SoCon 3rd team in 2012.
