Police arrest shooting victim who turned up at hospital

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police say they have taken custody of the 20-year-old man who lied about a shooting after showing up at a West Ashley hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to online records, police arrested Terrell Wilson at a North Charleston home on Pine Run Court, off of McMillan Avenue.  Records state Wilson was taken into custody around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say Wilson was dropped off at St. Francis Hospital on Mar. 26.  Police said Wilson told them he was shot in the leg on St. Andrews Boulevard.

The next day, police said Wilson gave several inconsistent statements that were proved to be false.  Police had been looking for him since then.

Wilson is charged with obstruction of justice.  He is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
