GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office has charged a 29-year-old man accused of robbing a bank on Murrells Inlet earlier this month.
Investigators charged Brandon Lee Christmas with armed robbery while allegedly armed with a deadly weapon. Authorities also charged 31-year-old Erin Jean Nichols of Myrtle Beach with accessory after the fact to a felony.
The sheriff's office says on March 4 at 2:30 p.m., a man entered the NBSC bank on 3796 Highway 17 and demanded and took money. An incident report states that the suspect told the teller he had a pistol.
Witnesses spotted the suspect leaving the area in a four door bright blue hatchback vehicle.
Through forensic evidence and witness accounts, investigators say they were able to identify Christmas as the suspect and Nichols as his accomplice.
Both Christmas and Nichols are locked up at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on unrelated charges and are expected to be transferred to the Georgetown County Detention Center.
