20-year-old charged in Johns Island stabbing

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

One man was arrested Thursday and another was hospitalized after a reported stabbing on Johns Island.

Charleston Police Department officers charged 20-year-old Aaron Brown with first-degree assault and battery after the stabbing reportedly happened at 3417 Island Estates Drive around 1:30 p.m. 

According to the police report, officers responded to learn the Brown and the victim had left the scene in separate vehicles.  Three witnesses told police they saw Brown stab the 22-year-old victim.  Police said evidence indicated the stabbing happened in the roadway.

The victim later showed up at Roper St. Francis hospital to be treated for the wound, police said.  He is expected to recover.

Brown was later arrested.  He is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing Friday afternoon.
