COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A man was hospitalized after being ejected from a high-speed crash near Givhans Ferry State Park over the weekend, authorities say.
According to Colleton County Fire & Rescue Chief Barry McRoy, rescue officials responded to Pierce Road near Serendipity Lane just after 1 a.m. Saturday. That is about 7 miles north of Cottageville.
McRoy said the motorist was driving north on Pierce Road in his Ford pickup when the truck left the roadway, flipped multiple times, and came to a rest at the tree line.
Rescuers found the victim lying on the side of the road near the rear of the truck.
He was taken to Colleton Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, McRoy said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
