Johns Island man accused of breaking into ex's apartment
JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -
A 31-year-old Johns Island man is behind bars accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's apartment on James Island.
The Charleston Police Department charged Justin Thomas Foster with first-degree burglary.
On March 26, officers responded to an apartment on Camp Road in reference to a burglary. The victim said when she returned home, she noticed the cushions of her couch were moved.
According to the victim, she then saw Foster step out of the back bedroom. Police say the victim then ran out of the apartment toward the pool in the middle of the complex.
An incident report states Foster chased the victim and grabbed her near the pool area. A witness said he heard the victim yelling for help and walked toward the pool.
The witness said when he approached the two, Foster took off on foot. The victim said nothing appeared to be missing, but she did find a duffle bag that belonged to Foster as well as a can of Corona beer on her TV stand.
Police say Foster was evicted from the victim's home in 2012 and had been placed on trespass notice.
