CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's name is once again on the ballot as he tries to wage a political comeback.

Sanford was the top vote-getter two weeks ago in the GOP primary for South Carolina's vacant 1st District congressional seat. On Tuesday, he faces former Charleston County councilman Curtis Bostic in the GOP runoff.

The winner advances face Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Bush, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert, and Green Party candidate Eugene Platt next month.

Sanford held the 1st District seat for three terms during the 1990s.

He's trying to rebuild his political career after disappearing from the state four years ago only to return to confess he was having an extramarital affair to a woman to whom he is now engaged.
