ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

Traffic is moving at a regular pace again on Interstate 26 near Orangeburg after a morning wreck closed the eastbound lanes for approximately three hours.

According to the Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 10:15 a.m. near exit 154, which is 5 Chop Road.

Troopers say the driver of the tractor-trailer swerved to avoid a collision with another tractor-trailer, ran off the left side of the road into the median. The driver then over corrected back to the right causing the tractor trailer to overturn on the interstate.

Troopers re-routed eastbound traffic at exit 149 while crews cleaned up the roadway. The detour sent motorists north on Highway 33 to 176 east to Interstate 95.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported by EMS to Orangeburg Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
