Stratford alum Chris Hanna has been released by the White Sox organization after failing to make one of their minor league clubs a team official told Live 5 on Tuesday.
The 21 year old lefty signed with the White Sox last summer after being released by the Rangers organization. Hanna pitched in 11 games between Bristol of the Appalachian League and Hickory of the South Atlantic League after joining the Sox in his 3rd pro career.
Hanna was an 11th round pick of the Rangers in the 2010 MLB Draft. He showed a lot of promise in Rookie ball and Low A in his first two pro seasons. But he struggled at the start of 2012 in the SAL and was released midway through the season.
