BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a Hanahan man was arrested on Wednesday after authorities found child pornography on his home computer.
Attorney General Alan Wilson said 49-year-old Thomas A. Peterson has been charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Peterson was given a $75,000 bond.
On Feb. 25, 2013, a Berkeley County Sheriff's Office undercover detective downloaded files containing child pornography from an Internet protocol address that was ultimately traced to Peterson's home, according to authorities.
Officers then executed a search warrant at the home on March 26 and seized several items, including three computers and other electronic devices.
Authorities say a preliminary examination of the computers revealed evidence of child pornography.
