The body of a local soldier supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan was flown back to the Lowcountry on Thursday.
Friends, family and military personnel gathered at Joint Base Charleston to pay their respects to Chief Warrant Officer Curtis Reagan of Summerville.
He died March 29 in Kandahar, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related illness.
He was assigned to the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia.
Gov. Nikki Haley has requested flags be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor Reagan.
