Fort Dorchester alum Mike Sellers, who was an All-American Center at The Citadel is transferring to Florida A&M he said in a phone call with Live 5 on Tuesday.
Sellers left the Bulldogs in mid February after he reportedly violated the school's honor code. Sellers wouldn't comment on his departure from the military school on the phone but said he would go into more detail next week after he officially signs with Florida A&M.
"It's been tough" Sellers said of the situation. "things are just now getting calmed down a little bit."
Sellers will have to sit out the 2013 season and play as a 5th year senior in 2014. He said he was also considering offers from South Carolina State, Villanova and Bethune-Cookman.
One of the reasons he chose the Rattlers was that the school will be setting up multiple pro days for him to show off his skills to scouts on the pro level when the time comes.
Sellers has started 22 straight games at Center for the Bulldogs and was named the team's offensive MVP for the 2012 season.
