Coroner identifies Kingstree man killed by train

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Williamsburg County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the man struck and killed by a train early Thursday.

Coroner Harrison McKnight identified the victim as 55-year-old Albert Tisdale, from Kingstree.  According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened around 12:30 a.m., just outside the Kingstree city limits.

Troopers said an Amtrak train hit Tisdale at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Wheeler Street.

The death is under investigation.
