CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Former Gov. Mark Sanford and his Democratic congressional opponent Elizabeth Colbert Busch are scheduled to meet in a debate later this month.
The Patch news service and the South Carolina Radio Network are sponsoring the debate at The Citadel on April 29. The radio network plans to offer audio of the debate to its affiliates.
Meanwhile, AARP has announced that a planned debate to be televised from the Medical University of South Carolina next Wednesday has been postponed.
AARP spokesman Patrick Cobb says the Colbert Busch camp notified the sponsors that her campaign has a conflict.
Colbert Busch and Sanford, a Republican, are running for the vacant 1st District congressional seat once held by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott. The special election is May 7.
