Crews secure gas leak on King Street

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Officials with SCE&G say crews have secured a gas leak which prompted the closure of King Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to Charleston Fire Battalion Chief Mike Julazadeh, construction crews struck a gas line at 429 King Street around 1 p.m.

SCE&G officials reported a little before 2 p.m. that the gas leak, located in the area of King and Mary streets, had been secured.

King Street was closed from Ann to Morris streets.
