MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Mt. Pleasant police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who exposed his genitalia to a runner and then followed the victim down a road while continuing to expose himself, according to an incident report.

Officers say the indecent exposure took place on Sunday, April 14 around 7:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Pitt Street.

The victim told police she was running down Pitt Street when she noticed the male suspect leaning against a tree 10 to 15 yards away from her. The suspect had his shorts pulled down to his knees, exposing his genitals. The suspect appeared to be gratifying himself, reports state.

Police say the victim continued running, only for the suspect to meet up with her at the intersection of Pitt and McCormick. The suspects pants were pulled up, but his genitals were still exposed.

Officers say the suspect ran off in the direction of the Pitt St. bridge after being yelled at by the victim.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 30 and 35, with light brown or sandy blond hair, and was unshaven. He was wearing a dark grey hooded sweater and black basketball shorts, both of which were baggy.

Officers spoke with a homeowner in the area of the incident who saw the suspect standing in her driveway around 7:30 a.m. When the witness asked the suspect what he was doing, the suspect said "I'm going on a run," and then walked away from the home.
