US Marshals capture fugitive wanted for North Charleston stabbing

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - US Marshals arrested a 22-year-old fugitive on Wednesday wanted by the North Charleston Police Department for a stabbing that happened last month.

Investigators charged Edward Reed with armed robbery, possession of a knife during a violent crime and first-degree assault and battery.

Reed's arrest stems from a March 18, 2013 incident when officers responded to St. Francis Hospital in reference to a stabbing.

The 43-year-old victim said he was in front of his house working on his car when he was approached by a man who asked for change.

A police report states that while the victim was getting change, two male suspects approached from behind the victim and stabbed him in his left hand.

The victim said he knew the suspects and could identify them.

Reed was also wanted for two warrants for false information to police and disorderly conduct.

Reed was locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
