The New York Yankees have announced that second baseman Rob Refsnyder has been promoted from the Charleston RiverDogs to the High-A Tampa Yankees.
Simultaneously, infielder Wilson Rosario has been promoted to Charleston from Extended Spring Training and will take Refsnyder's spot on the roster.
A 6'1", 205 pound right-handed hitter from Laguna Hills, CA, Refsnyder hit .370 with six RBI's and a team-high seven stolen bases in 13 games for Charleston this year. Refsnyder made his professional debut in 2012 with the RiverDogs. He was drafted by the Yankees organization in the 5th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Arizona. He was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player last year and helped the Wildcats win the CWS championship.
Rosario also made his professional debut in 2012. He split the season between the Gulf Coast League Yankees and Tampa Yankees. Combined he hit .288 and stole three bases in just 24 games played. The 22 year-old is a native of the Dominican Republic.
