NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say they are investigating after a security officer claimed he was shot at near Joseph Pye Elementary School early Friday.
Police spokesman Spencer Pryor said officers responded to the construction site at 9701 Patriot Boulevard just after 3 a.m. after a security officer said he was shot at.
Pryor said officers met with the alleged victim, who said he was sitting in his security vehicle when he saw a man walk up. Pryor said the security guard told them he was exiting his vehicle to confront the suspect when the suspect fired one round, striking his vehicle.
The suspect then fled on foot, the security officer told police.
No one was injured.
