CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A woman who died after she was struck by a car while trying to cross the Crosstown late Tuesday has been identified as 42-year-old Telma Duarte by the Charleston County Coroner's Office.
According to a Charleston Police Department traffic report, Duarte was crossing the Septima Clark Expressway between Hagood and Lockwood avenues just before midnight when she was struck by a southbound Toyota.
She was later pronounced dead. The coroner's office says the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Police ruled the victim at fault for the accident.
The driver will not face charges.
