GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies are investigating a shooting that left a young couple dead late Wednesday night.

Deputies said they got a call about a disturbance on Gilbert Court around 11:30 p.m. Deputy Jonathan Smith said investigators arrived on the scene minutes later and met with the caller who stated she found a man and woman inside the residence with gunshot wounds.

After emergency crews secured the scene, it was determined that the man was dead, and the woman was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she died, according to Smith.

Coroner Barry Wright identified the victims as Mary Guthrie, 18, and Erith Carrillo, 19. Wright said it appears the two were fighting, and that led the shooting. He said both were shot in the head in what was believed to be a murder-suicide.

Wright also said a three-month-old baby was in the home at the time of the shootings, but was unharmed.
