GREENVILLE, SC (WYFF) - An Upstate woman who said she took dead cats from the road to conduct medical experiments was in court Friday.

Cheryl Lee Ross was arrested after complaints about dead cats hanging from a shed behind her house on Church Street in West Greenville.

Ross told animal control officers she was using road kill for experiments.

She pleaded guilty Friday to failing to dispose of dead animals.

Ross was fined $425.  If the fine is not paid by May 20, she will be required to serve 15 days in jail.
