PICKENS COUNTY, SC (WYFF) - A Pickens County woman charged with killing four members of her family agreed to a plea deal Friday that will keep her from facing the death penalty.
Susan Hendricks agreed to one life sentence for each count of murder against her.  She pleaded guilty but mentally ill.

Authorities say Hendricks killed her two sons, her ex-husband and her stepmother in October 2011, then tried to make it look like her son was the killer to collect about $700,000 worth of life insurance policies.
Investigators say Hendricks left the gun used in all four killings by one of her sons and told deputies he was suicidal. She also led them to a note that authorities say was not written by Hendricks. The contents of the note have not been released.

The judge will officially sentenced Hendrix to four life sentences, the maximum since the death penalty was off the table
