Driver sought in hit-and-run with cyclist

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who was involved in a hit and run with a cyclist Tuesday night.

According to an incident report, police were called out to Clements Ferry Road at I-526 around 9:11 p.m. in reference to a hit and run involving a cyclist.

The cyclist told police he was riding his bike in the median traveling northbound on Clements Ferry Road when he was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle.

Police say the collision caused the cyclist to fall off his bike, injuring his forehead, left elbow, lower back, and left ankle.

The victim was taken to East Cooper Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
