JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators are looking for a suspect who robbed a gas station employee on Johns Island.

On Tuesday morning, police responded to the BP gas station on 1786 Main Rd. in reference to a strong armed robbery.

The victim, who is an employee at the gas station, said when she went to her car, a black male suspect wearing a blue sweatshirt pushed her against a wall, spun her around and pushed an unknown object to her stomach.

The suspect then took the victim's purse which contained her driver's license and debit card. The victim suffered from a scratch across her stomach from the incident.

A K-9 unit searched the area and discovered a red leather eye glasses case behind a warehouse building next to the gas station.

Video of the incident is expected to be released.
