Chris Reger has been named the new Head Football Coach at North Charleston High School Athletic Director Nate Pearson announced on Friday. He becomes the 4th head coach for the school in the last 5 seasons.
He replaces RaShan Frost who went 1-9 in his only season with the Cougars.
Reger spent 2012 as the teams offensive coordinator after moving to North Charleston from New York. He spent 3 seasons as an assistant in Elmira and was a head coach for 1 year at Broadway High School in New York.
"I'm very excited, I can't wait" Reger told Live 5 on Friday. "The biggest thing these kids need is support after having changes year after year after year."
North Charleston has had a difficult time installing stability into the program since Jimmy Brown stepped down as head coach before the 2010 season. Since then Gerald Hemingway spent 2 seasons with the team before Frost's one. They've had just 5 wins in that time.
