Authorities arrested five people in connection to an undercover drug investigation in Orangeburg County.

The Orangeburg Sheriff's office responded to a home in the 1600 block of Vance Road Thursday afternoon, after a long investigation of drugs being sold for at the residence.

According to deputies, when they entered the home they found 23-year-old James River Jr. hiding in a bathroom with marijuana in his possession. Deputies say upon entering the home Reggie Anderson, 37, of Vance and Franklin Tyrone Shaw, 23, of Santee ran out of the home as authorities entered in.

Both suspects were caught a short time later with drugs in their possession.

All suspects were arrested and charged for their crimes.

Investigators also arrested and charged Timmie Antonio Profit, 24, of Elloree with distributing crack cocaine and marijuana.

Orangeburg Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said, "The citizens of Orangeburg County can take comfort in knowing, there is an active law enforcement presence in this county addressing your concerns and making it hard for criminals to do business in this county. To the individuals, who continue to deal drugs, if you can't read my lips, read these words … not in Orangeburg County, not on my watch."
