DD2: Student in trouble after Air Soft gun goes off in school

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Dorchester District 2 officials say a 4th grade student is facing disciplinary action after an Air Soft gun he had discharged at an elementary school in North Charleston.

According to school officials, the incident happened at Eagle Nest Elementary School when a student brought an Air Soft gun which was placed in his book bag.

A press release states that while the student was in the bathroom, the gun discharged. The student said that the incident was an accident.

School officials say there was no danger to students, and appropriate disciplinary action has been taken with the student.

The school district is asking parents to speak with their children about taking inappropriate toys or items to school that could result in disciplinary action.
