Victim: Men wielding axes attempt to break into Goose Creek home

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are investigating an attempted home invasion in Goose Creek where the victim described the suspects as two males carrying axes.

The Goose Creek Police Department responded to a home on Wilmer Drive at 12:29 p.m. in reference to a report of armed intruders entering a home.

Police say the resident fled to a nearby business and called police regarding the incident. Officers then went to the home and reported that the intruders were no longer at the home.

Investigators then set up a perimeter, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Authorities describe the suspects as two black males, wearing black hooded shirts and ski masks. Police say one of the suspects was carrying a hatchet, while the other an axe.

Westview elementary, middle and primary schools were notified of the incident due to the proximity of the incident.

Police say the resident was not injured. Authorities are continuing the investigation.
