CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A number of corporate jets have been spotted at the Charleston Executive Airport, and they appear to be associated with some pretty big names.
Seventeen corporate jets were counted at the Johns Island airport on Thursday around 3:45 p.m.
Tail numbers on the jets indicate one is owned by Challenger Administration LLC, a company founded on behalf of Microsoft founder Bill Gates.
When asked if Gates was in Charleston, a spokesperson with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation said we "would have to speak to the team handling the event," but would not provide any additional information.
Another jet is listed under Jacobs Irwin Mark Trustee. Irwin Mark Jacobs, whose net worth is $1.55 billion according to Forbes, is the former chairman of Qualcomm.
Both corporate jets, along with many others at the airport, are listed as private by Flight Aware, a website that tracks flights.
