BOULDER, CO (CNN) - Many Americans are apparently being forced to make big lifestyle sacrifices because of student loan debt.
They are putting off getting married, buying a home or saving for retirement, according to a survey from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
One reason could be that the majority of borrowers didn't anticipate having a tough time repaying the loans.
About one in five households currently carry student loan debt.
