DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The sounds of sheep bleating, and clippers buzzing filled the air of Middleton Place today.
The plantation held their annual shearing of their sheep flock, and visitors were invited to watch the demonstrations.
According to Middleton Place, each adult sheep can yield up to eight pounds of wool. The goal is to remove all the wool in one piece, called the fleece. The wool is then cleaned, combed and spun into yarn.
