Officials investigate suspicious package outside Army recruitment office

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Bomb Squad has determined a suspicious package left outside a US Army Recruitment Office on Monday contained magazines.

North Charleston police had cleared the area of 2070 Northbrook Avenue on Monday morning after receiving reports of a suspicious package left out front of the recruitment office.

The bomb squad arrived on scene and x-rayed the package, which was determined to contain magazines.

North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Proyr said it was still unknown how the harmless package arrived at the location.
